Takanori Koyama, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA

Taka specializes in the treatment of autism across the lifespan, from early childhood through adulthood. Before earning his doctoral degree in Special Education from the University of Washington, he worked as a preschool and kindergarten special education teacher and managed early intervention programs within public school settings. More recently, Dr. Koyama has supported adolescents and young adults with challenging behaviors in both home and school environments. His professional expertise includes early intervention for children with autism, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), positive behavior support, visual supports, social skills training, TEACCH, and the management of severe behavior challenges. He is fluent in English and Japanese and has conversational proficiency in Chinese. Outside of work, he enjoys spending weekends with his wife, daughter, and two sons.
