Christopher Jones, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA

Executive Director

Dr. Christopher Jones is the current Executive Director at NWABA. Throughout his career he served in director roles at 3 other companies and consulted widely for disability related companies across the United States and Canada.  He also served as adjunct faculty in the School of Education at the University of Washington where his research looked at Staff Retention in healthcare. His prior positions in academia at the University of Washington and the University of Puget Sound also supported his research looking at social supports for young adults on the autism spectrum as well as adaptive development and self-help skills for younger children on the spectrum.  Dr. Jones has more than three decades of clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults with developmental disabilities and over 25 years working specifically with populations affected by autism. He facilitated autism and ADHD social skills groups to promote social and communication skills and conducted dozens of ASD-related trainings to teachers, therapists, social workers, parents, and university professors. He is published in peer reviewed journals and has presented at conferences locally and nationally. He also served as founder and president of the Washington Association for Behavior Analysis from 2014-2016 where he helped to pass Washington’s licensure law for behavior analysts. Lastly, he serves on the board of directors for a Seattle based non-profit that supports people in the disability community through active engagement with and access to movement and the arts. In his free time, Dr. Jones can frequently be found in the mountains or other outside environments engaging in his many favorite outdoors activities such as skiing, climbing, mountaineering, running, biking, and sea kayaking.
